The Old Williamsonian Club      Cricket blasts off Our OWCC cricketers have started their season on a high note. In a friendly "1st XI" fixture, Luke Butcher, Sean Holbrook and James Whitnell all retired having completed half-centuries in a total of 271 for 9 off their allotted 40 overs. Rainham were soon in trouble as both Phil Patterson and Jimmy Masters took two quick wickets apiece and they settled for some batting practice in reaching 148 for 7. New boy, Hugo Parnell managed to get off on the wrong foot running out captain, Jon Child! He did make up for it with his bowling though. Both our Under 13 and Under 15 Colts won their opening fixtures against Blue Bell Hill. Callum Swift retired in the U13s having reached 25 but the Sunday star was definitely Harry Stanford in the U15s who scored 60 and then took 4 wickets including a hat-trick!!Nets are held at the School on Mondays commencing at 1800hrs for the U13s with U15s and U17s and seniors commencing from @1900hrs.   Details...

Charity Appeal
Written by Christopher Halls
Friday, 23 October 2009

As a former pupil (1959-1966), I wonder if I can ask the Club to put out an appeal for trustees for the charity of which I am CEO.  Signalong is based in Strood and is a specialist national charity which provides resources, training and support for children and adults with verbal communication difficulties.  Our Board of trustees has some members who are not getting any younger, and we do need some new blood.  Information can be found at www.signalong.org.uk, and anyone interested can contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or on 07904 522989.  Manythanks

Mike Kennard

Hampton House, 94 Leckhampton Lane, Cheltenham, Glos - Tel: 01242 539302.

She would be most pleased to hear from anyone who remembers her.
